Liver Function
The liver plays a central role in metabolism, detoxification, nutrient processing, hormone regulation, bile production, and energy homeostasis. Alanine Aminotransferase (ALT)
What it reflects

Aspartate Aminotransferase (AST)
What it reflects

Why it matters

Alkaline Phosphatase (ALP)
What it reflects

Values comfortably within the laboratory reference range are generally consistent with healthy liver synthetic function.

Low albumin does not necessarily indicate liver disease. Nutritional status, chronic inflammation, kidney disorders, gastrointestinal conditions, and systemic illness should also be considered.

No single liver marker provides a complete assessment of liver health.
For example:
