Case Summary
Age Group: 20s
Sex: Male
Primary Concern: Atypical chest pain, severe anxiety over a scheduled invasive cardiac procedure, and suspected severe coronary artery stenosis.
Key Outcome: Complete resolution of chest pain within days, reversal of suspected severe blockage to mild/moderate status, cancellation of angioplasty/stenting, and full discharge from anti-platelet therapy—all confirmed by NHS angiography.
The Journey
In mid-October 2024, a young man in his 20s reached out to Integra in understandable distress. He was suffering from recurrent chest pain, difficulty breathing, and a profound sense of anxiety.
For someone so young, facing potential heart issues is frightening enough. However, his concern turned into severe stress and depression after receiving official hospital communications from the NHS. Initial diagnostics, including a CT coronary angiogram, had flagged a "possible severe stenosis in the proximal LAD" (Left Anterior Descending artery). Consequently, he was formally referred and scheduled for a Cardiac Angioplasty.
The prospect of undergoing an invasive cardiac procedure, taking heavy prescription medications, and facing unknown impacts on his future, his work, and his long-term health left him feeling overwhelmed and uncertain. Seeking hope and a non-invasive way forward, he was personally referred to Integra.
Given his age, such advanced cardiovascular concerns were atypical. Recognising the urgency and his high level of distress, we agreed there was no time to waste and initiated his Integrative Health Perspective (IHP) plan on 15th October 2024.
Our Integrative Perspective
When evaluating cardiovascular and arterial health from an integrative standpoint, we look beyond isolated anatomical findings to assess the systemic environment.
In this client's case, several key drivers appeared to be contributing to acute inflammatory burden and early metabolic/vascular stress:
Severe Oxidative & Inflammatory Stress: Driven significantly by a long-standing smoking habit.
Metabolic & Glycaemic Instability: A history of a very high-carbohydrate diet, irregular eating patterns, and recurrent binge drinking, suggesting underlying insulin resistance—a primary driver of endothelial dysfunction and atherosclerotic pathways.
Autonomic Strain: High psychological stress and anxiety, creating systemic vasoconstriction and further burdening the cardiovascular system.
Our goal was not to replace his conventional care team, but to rapidly restore cellular balance, reduce vascular inflammation, and support his body's natural resilience prior to his hospital admission.
Building the Plan
We outlined an immediate, multi-faceted approach tailored to his current capacity and willingness to act:
Targeted Oxidative Therapy: Introduced on the very first evening, combining simple oral preparations with topical applications designed to support cellular oxygenation, reduce localised inflammation, and combat oxidative damage.
Nutritional Re-alignment (Ketoadaptation): Transitioning away from high-starch, high-sugar foods to lower systemic insulin levels and arterial inflammation. The focus was shifted to high-quality meats, fish, poultry, eggs, seafood, mature cheeses, and low-starch vegetables, bringing carbohydrate intake below 20 grams per day.
Structured Intermittent Fasting: Adjusting meals to a maximum of 3 per day with defined eating windows to promote cellular repair and metabolic flexibility.
Immediate Smoking Cessation: Addressing the primary environmental driver of vascular irritation.
Rather than giving him an overwhelming list of rules, we guided him step-by-step to build total confidence in his choices.
Walking the Journey Together
The dynamic of working together was marked by an extraordinary level of client commitment and daily communication.
Rapid Initial Relief
The morning after starting his initial oxidative therapy protocols, we checked in. Surprised and in content disbelief, he shared:
"Very good, I don't feel as much pain in my chest like before."
We encouraged him to remain steady with the basic protocols. Day by day, his progress continued. By the third day of implementing the dietary adjustments and oxidative support, his chest pain had completely vanished.
Exceptional Commitment
Adopting a ketogenic framework can be challenging for many, especially eliminating ubiquitous items like breads, pastries, pasta, fries, and sweets. Yet, his dedication to his own healing was remarkable. As a highly curious and active client, he checked in regularly to verify ingredients before eating, ensuring he stayed strictly on track.
Equally inspiring was his strength in tackling smoking. Though he experienced withdrawal anxiety and shared moments where letting go was difficult, he stopped abruptly and completely—removing a major toxic burden from his cardiovascular system overnight.
Navigating Pre-Procedure Anxiety
As his appointment approached, he received formal pre-assessment instructions from the NHS outlining required medication changes prior to admission, including commencing blood thinners (Aspirin and Clopidogrel).

Sharing these letters with us, his anxiety resurfaced. He deeply wished to avoid invasive intervention and felt uncertain about newly prescribed medications. We provided educational context around what to expect and potential side effects so he could have informed, meaningful discussions with his NHS medical team. Reassured and informed, he remained fully compliant with his integrative plan.
Energy & Frequency Support
On the day prior to his scheduled hospital procedure, we conducted two complementary sessions: a micro-frequency session and Biomagnetic Pair Therapy (BPT). During the BPT assessment, the bioenergetic response focused directly on the cardiac region. Applying paired magnetic polarities to these bio-energetic points aimed to restore localised pH balance and support autonomic coherence ahead of his hospital visit.
Progress Along the Way
On the morning of 1st November 2024—just 15 days after starting his IHP plan—he attended the Royal Bournemouth Hospital for his scheduled intervention, having maintained his oxidative protocol up until admission.
The procedure note issued by the Dorset Heart Centre documented the official clinical findings from his catheterisation:
Diagnosis: 1. Atypical chest pain, 2. Normal LV systolic function
Procedure Findings (Coronary Angiogram):
Left main stem: No significant disease.
Left anterior descending artery: Showed an area of mild to moderate discreet stenosis in the proximal segment.
Circumflex artery: No significant disease.
Right coronary artery: No significant disease.
Clinical Summary Notes:
"The patient told me that he has been chest pain free for the last 4 weeks. He is leading an active life and has stopped smoking."
"He was reassured regarding the angiogram findings."
"I have stopped his anti-platelets."
What was initially suspected on CT imaging to be a severe stenosis requiring angioplasty (+/- PCI) was officially confirmed on live angiography to be merely mild-to-moderate, discreet irritation requiring no surgical or invasive intervention whatsoever. His anti-platelet medication was promptly discontinued by the hospital consultant, and he was discharged.
Where Things Stand Today
That evening, the client contacted us, eager to share news that had surprised even the hospital staff. In his own words:
"I came clear, no intervention needed."
In just over two weeks, through an extraordinary turn of personal willpower, rapid lifestyle adjustments, targeted metabolic therapy, and oxidative support, his clinical trajectory completely shifted.
Today, he remains entirely free of chest pain, leads an active life, and maintains his new dietary habits, intermittent fasting routine, and foundational wellness protocols. His story stands as a testament to what is possible when a client takes full ownership of their health and receives tailored, compassionate guidance that aligns with the body's natural capacity to heal.
