The Journey


In December 2024, a family reached out to Integra seeking urgent direction following a serious haematological diagnosis. The client had been experiencing profound fatigue, marked anaemia, and abnormal blood work, prompting comprehensive haematological investigations.


The diagnostic reports presented a clear but highly critical picture:


  • Peripheral Blood & Myelogram: Marked elevation of white blood cell counts, abnormal platelet levels, low haemoglobin, and high numbers of immature myeloid blast cells in the bone marrow.


  • Cytogenetic Analysis: Positive confirmation of the Philadelphia chromosome [t(9;22)(q34;q11)], confirming the presence of the BCR-ABL1 fusion gene—the hallmark driver of Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia (CML).



Based on the elevated blast cell percentage and rapid progression, the findings pointed to CML in the accelerated phase—a critical transitional stage moving toward acute blast crisis. Plunged into deep anxiety by the gravity of the diagnosis, the family turned to Integra for an objective review.
